Assistant Choir Director

Kathryn Zetterstrom began her teaching career in the Lubbock Independent School District teaching alongside Brett Farr at Coronado High School.  She later served as the head director at both Monterey High School and Lubbock High School and really learned how to teach when she taught for five years at Irons Middle School.  She is now completing her twelfth year as one of four directors (and friends) who teach over 450 choir students at Allen High School.  She received both her BM(Ed) as well as her MM (performance) degree in Conducting from Texas Tech University and her Educational Administration certification from Lubbock Christian University.  While at Tech she studied conducting under Dr. Ken Davis, piano performance with Steven Glaser, and voice with Sue Arnold. She currently serves as TMEA Region 25 Vice-President, Vice-President of the Ken Davis Chorale and she stays busy as a choral clinician, adjudicator, and accompanist–most recently serving as accompanist for the Kentucky All-State Tenor/Bass Chorus. She is a member of TMAA, TMEA, ACDA, and TCDA.  Kathryn also holds a position as the Director of Music Ministries at Prosper United Methodist Church and is mom to her favorite people: Henrik and Espen, as well as daughter-in-law extraordinaire (and Conroe ISD choir director) Kameryn, and two trouble-maker dogs, Nala and Oliver.
