We offer the opportunity for students to pay for and receive private voice lessons during the school day (specifically during a student’s choir class). In order to be placed with a teacher, each student/parent must fill out and submit the Google form found here: https://tinyurl.com/AHSLFCvoicesignup
THIS IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL and NOT REQUIRED for any choir student. However, students in classes that are required to participate in the All-Region process may find it particularly helpful to have this one-on-one help learning the music and developing good vocal technique. Lessons are $22 for each 25 minute lesson, and lessons occur weekly for the entire school year. That is approx. $88 each month paid directly to the voice teacher.
Read all information provided in the Google form completely as signing up for lessons is a year-long commitment—one doesn’t just quit lessons if they don’t make Region choir or lose interest—you sign up and see it through for the entire school year. The first page of the Google form explains everything in detail…so please read it thoroughly before making your decision to commit to lessons. The sooner you submit the form the better your chances are of getting placed with a teacher in a timely fashion. The deadline for submitting the form is Friday, September 1st.
Please keep in mind that the form will give you 3 choices for teachers OR the option of, “It does not matter. Please make a trusted selection for me.” We are in the process of hiring additional voice teachers, so if you would prefer to study with one of our new teachers, please choose that last option.
There is also a short-answer “additional comments” question where you can designate if there is a particular teacher with whom you do NOT want to study, or you’d prefer a male/female teacher, etc.
